OUR HISTORY

A former 32 year old Navy veteran, with a background in Auto mechanics, could he make it in the business world? After much thought and prayer, Universal Automotive Service was opened. In the summer of 1985, Frank Abernethy of Salisbury, NC started a new life adventure, a dream come true, with the opening of Universal Automotive Service. With entrusted faith in God, his wife and family behind him, Frank decided to step out into a career change. For many years Frank worked on cars and trucks as a hobby, and then he decided to go to Rowan/Cabarrus Community College to pursue an automotive degree. Frank earned a degree in Automotive Mechanics and a whole new world opened up for him. When Frank was in business nearly 15 years, Josh his son was old enough to begin learning a new trade, so Frank decided to carry on the family business, and bring Josh on to his team. Josh has proved to be an invaluable asset to the company and Frank feels confident that one day Josh will manage the business for the next generation. Then came along the youngest son Jake, at just 13 he started working with the business the summer of 2007. Jake has a drive to learn and he does not mind hard labor. Frank feels that as Jake learns and as he grows he will also prove to be an invaluable asset to the company.

Universal Automotive Service, Inc. has proved the test of time, after more than 18 years in business Frank has taken on an even greater business adventure with a move to another town in a neighboring community. Many things would prompt the move, a better facility, a more convenient location for our loyal area customers, and a desire to grow the business, and to give back to the area communities.

Our business offers many different automotive applications. We offer quality service to our customers. We also provide a service for area trucking companies and race teams; we want to be able to offer all that we can for everyone’s needs. We are excited to report that as of August 11, 2003 Universal Automotive Service, Inc. and our team, Frank, Josh, and Jake, have successfully moved into our new facility and location at 2199 Kannapolis Hwy. Concord, NC 28027.

Beginning June 1st 2015, Universal Automotive Service, Inc. will continue to offer you an excellent
